LAW LUNCH: Threats to Civil Liberties after 9/11

Please join us for the first Law Lunch of the semester this Wednesday, Oct. 26, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Dakin Living Room.
NANCY TALANIAN, a co-founder and founding director of the BILL OF RIGHTS DEFENSE COMMITTEE (BORDC), will speak on "GRASSROOTS RESPONSE TO POST-9/11 CIVIL LIBERTIES THREATS." The BORDC, a national organization based here in Northampton, MA, has stimulated and co-ordinated the passage of nearly 400 state and local government resolutions and 53 campus resolutions opposing parts of the USA PATRIOT Act and other post-9/11 laws and policies that threaten civil liberties. October 26, the fourth anniversary of the USA PATRIOT Act, is an excellent time to hear about the work of this important organization.

Delicious Middle Eastern food will be served! Please announce this to your students and come for lunch and a stimulating conversation.
