President Hexter and former NBA and Israeli Maccabi player LeVon Mercer will speak!
This festival will be an all community event celebrating Israel’s diverse culture through food and music. There will be dance lessons for students and a hookah bar. Three themes will be prevalent at our event: diversity, equal women’s rights and gay rights. We will have booths in which people can come get some information and talk with fellow peers about gay marriage, feminism, and immigration in the state of Israel. President Hexter will extend his hand in solidarity by introducing the event. In addition, LeVon Mercer, former NBA player for the San Antonio Spurs will be speaking about why he decided to play for the Maccabi team in Israel and become an Israeli citizen as a non-Jewish African-American.
