Darin College TV Show
(Learn how to produce a short video, from shooting to editing to acting over January term)
Fed up with the current video classes at Hampshire that don't teach video, but teach, say, philosophy or politics? Would you like to take a single class where you can learn the basics in all areas needed to start filming, editing or acting? Well this class will do just that, plus more.
Darin is a college home to the mediocre magic of earth and this show is about the tales of the college and the trials and tribulations it faces. The first episode is a short segment introducing the main characters and the plot line. If a success, hopefully there will be future episodes. There are no prerequisites to this class, but each student taking it should be open to doing all aspects of video production, from acting (there are many characters and we may require auditions for additional roles) to camera operations. If a student has a particular interest, this can be their main focus. A script, characters and scene descriptions will be provided before the class at http://showsontv.blogspot.com. Although you cannot get direct credit from taking this class, talk to your advisors about trying to do it as an independent study.
