Humble Boy
Thu, Oct 20, 8:00 pm (Theatrical Production)

Following the sudden death of his father, he returns to his middle England home to find his difficult and demanding mother in an affair with another man, while their neighbors watch. He soon realizes that his search for unity must include his own chaotic home life. Felix struggles to find his place amidst the family chaos and begins to reconcile his feelings to seek a new beginning. Mixed Heritage Meeting!
Mixed Heritage - First meeting of the semester. Cultural Center 6:30-8pm.
First Mixed Heritage meeting of the semester - we will eat dinner, introduce ourselves, and brainstorm ideas for the semester. Wednesday night - Cultural Center - 6:30-8pm
Mixed Heritage:
We are a group of mixed race and transnationally, transracially adopted students who identify as being mixed heritage. We all feel that our idnetities are challenged in some way and want to give a supportive, safe environment to talk about political identity as well as personal experience. We feel that our
experiences are not necessarily represented in a single race group. Being a part of two or more different cultural or racial groups creates conflict in belonging, raises authenticity issues, creates familial misunderstandings and constant explanation to the larger community.
Questions, email Yasmine at ycf03@hampshire.edu

The Common Cold
Do you have one or more of these symptoms; runny nose, body aches, cough, fever, sore throat, or nasal congestion? If so, you probably have a Rhino Virus, also known as the common cold.
Everyone sooner or later gets a cold. In fact, most adults get 2 to 5 colds each year.
Antibiotics have no effect on a cold; they are worthless in the treatment of viral illnesses and may even cause harmful side effects. To learn more about prevention and treatment of colds, please log on to Hampshire.edu and click on the Health Services.
When should you call Health Services(x5458)? If you have the following symptoms...
1. A temperature over 103F.
2. A temperature over 100F for more than 5 days.
3. Severe ear pain or loss of hearing
4. Cough with shaking chills.
5. Cough that lasts for more than 2 weeks.

Anti-War Political Action
Next meeting, Wednesday, October 19th in FPH 108
Last wednesday we focussed primarily on some 'points of unity' for the group, talking about what type of involvement this group should consider. The most obvious unifying point is that we are against the Iraq War. This will be our starting point. I think it is important for people to realize that be are aiming at a process, not for a finishline. Recognizing peace and justice are processes involving massive amounts of energy, our energy, to invoke, is critical.
Next meeting we will discus some of the necessary organizational points first, then look at some very critical movements happening now, and how we want to be involved, as a group and individualy. If any of you have a chance check out worldcantwait.org for information on the Nov 2nd nation wide action. Email me with questions and I will try to point you in the correct direction. thankyou all. Hope to see you there
